November Blog ERA Turks and Caicos Real Estate

After the hurricane season passes you can hear a collective sigh of relief! Turks and Caicos Islands are rarely affected except for last year when we had little damage in Providenciales and thanks to our great people we were not inconvenienced for too long for the most part. The building codes that have been in effect here for many years now provide for ‘strong’ buildings and we should not have too many problems in the future.

I [Jim Brown] have just returned from my vacation in France and London. It is easy to see why people love to come to Turks and Caicos Islands! The beaches in the south of France cannot compare to what we take for granted here. Everywhere is crowded, there is no parking and the stress level is off the chart! Now is the time to book your trip to the Turks and Caicos! Prices are a fraction of Europe and with the Euro/GBP so strong we are a bargain!

It has never been a better time to visit! Hotels are offering special prices and are ready to treat you with fine dinning and special services like world class spas. Providenciales even has shopping now! Our beaches are always voted tops in the world and just last Sunday in the middle of world famous Grace Bay Beach I could easily count the people as far as I could see on each side – I didn’t but there were probably no more than 150! Can you imagine that compared to Europe where you have 150 people every 150 feet!

It has always been a bit of a joke here that visitors get upset with our Island service staff. The joke being that the very reason these visitors are coming here is to gear down – to relax - to enjoy the Caribbean life style. So why get upset when you actually encounter it? In general our service staff are young people and they are still leaning the trade and doing the job in a manner most accept as normal here. Talk to them and ask where they are from and what they like here and you will be rewarded with a smile!

Time after time when I come back I see the real attraction of the Turks and Caicos Islands as I suppose our visitors do to. It is the ‘smallness’ – no line-ups, no traffic, no stop lights to name a few. No crowded beaches but beautiful waters and views of sunrises and sunsets and everything in-between. One must not forget the weather! It is truly the land of endless summer here. Come for 2-3 weeks or come for a lifetime and enjoy a simple relaxed lifestyle – one week is not enough!
